Large, heavy and unique one-of silver plated WMF bowl or tureen made in 1894.
This bowl is something special, its size and the fact that it still has its 18 original cups which are gilt from the inside. On the lid there is a German engraving:
'Ihrem lieben Freunde Adolph Münnich zu seinem 25 jährigen Geschäftsjubiläum die Familien Jillich u. Gichler 1869 10. Mai 1894'.
It was a special made and engraved gift to Adolf Münnich on the occasion of his 25th work anniversary at Jilich u. Giehler. This nice hammered and embossed large tureen is impressive, because of its size, but also because of the lion head handles and the eagle with its spread wings on the lid.
The size of the bowl is: W x D x H 32 cm x 29 cm x 40 cm
The size of the cups is: diameter x height 5.5 cm x 8.5 cm.
