‘Welcome’ Gold Nugget Model

This is rare. It’s the only thing left of the biggest gold nugget ever found. The Welcome Nugget, found in Victoria Australia in 1858. But of course it didn’t last long. Because of its elephantine value it was melded down into gold coins by the London Mint within two years. Just before they did, a few models of the nugget were made. Most of these models are in museums now. This one used to be in the possession of a famous London mineral and fossil trader. Now it can be yours. (Today the ‘Welcome’ nugget is still the second largest nugget ever found.)
