These beautiful oil lamps, made from brass, are from around 1850-1870 were they were used by Dutch weavers. The weavers started weaving when working in the fields was no longer possible because the days were getting shorter. You can find these rare and decorative lamps in the TextielMuseum in Holland. Textile was a very important business for the south of Holland. But this is all theory. For me they just look gorgeous and the still work if you add some oil.
