Very cute pair of matching male and female Dresden porcelain pug dog figurines made of the finest hard paste porcelain and beautifully hand painted with brown and black spots, pink collars and gold bells, early 20th century
Both have a blue underglaze intertwined monogram SP ( Sächsische Porzellan-Manufaktur or Carl Thieme Saxonian Porcelain Factory mark for Potschappel Freital) Dresden, that was used from 1901. The male has his mark on his right behind on the back, the female on her left behind.
