Fabulous collection of six 19th century French cast gilt or ormolu bronze photo frames for pictures of all your loved ones.
The heraldic shield form frame has a beautiful shape. Behind the glass, the frame is lined with a wonderful green taffeta and then mounted with some small pretty ormolu mounts in the form of flower garlands and an eagle holding arrows, the back opens in its original way. It hangs by a very pretty double chain.
The scalloped frame probably originally was for two pictures, now it can hold a single lying oval family picture. It opens by removing the little brass nails on the side of the frame
The large oval is quite heavy, it has its original back and cloth lining, although I think the back originally probably had a stand, now it can hang.
The small oval frame with very pretty small bow and flower garland has no back, the click-on frame only holds a thin piece of glass and a picture.
The small oval frame with long bow and flower garland, ribbon decoration and flowers on the bottom does not have its original back but a piece of cardboard. This and the original 'foldable flaps' hold a picture in place.
|The smallest one has its original back and its original little convex glass.
