Beautiful very large hunting themed bowl or Tureen.
Grey-green drip glazed with orange hunting details like red deer heads to hold it. Decorated with a fox and a turkey. The lid can be lifted by a giant acorn and it stands on acorn leaf feet.
The Eckhardt & Engler company was established in 1898 in the Westerwald town of Höhr, Grenzhausen, Germany. They produced character steins until after World War II.
The mark under one of the feet (two back faced E's over an H) indicates this stein is produced between 1918 and the early depression days before WW II.
If you like you could fill this up with 8 liter punch or goulash (stew) that will serve 25 to 30 portions.
It will look stunning on your dinning table, or just as lovely as decoration piece in your kitchen or china cabinet.
