Decorative set consisting of five antique or almost antique horse hair and badger hair paint brushes. This is the real deal, each of these craftsmanship handmade pure bristle brush is an art piece on its own because you can see they where used.
The smallest brush actually is antique, this is a 19th century brush with bone ferrules and turned wooden handle. The hair is real badger hair, stiff bristle ending in very soft tips, typically used to soften and evenly blend oil paint.
Pure bristle or natural bristle paint brushes are made from natural materials such as animal hair and are ideal for applying oil-based paints. This is because these materials can absorb water, which means they are not ideal for use with water-based paints.
